1. Introduction

getajobuganda connects job seekers and employers across Uganda. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it and your rights under Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy considerations.

2. Data We Collect

Account: Name, email, password, company, referred by.
Job posts: Job title, company name, category, location (district), job type, work experience, positions, roles, requirements (education, experience, skills), address, how to apply.
Job Alerts: email, category, job type, location, experience — used for weekly digest on Fridays 08:00.
Invites & Payments: Invite email, payer number, recipient MTN +256762087831 / Airtel +256700729852, amount, plan (monthly UGX 100,000 / annual UGX 1,000,000).

3. How We Use Your Data

Match and display job listings, filter by category/location.
Send job alert digests (weekly, one email per subscriber) with unsubscribe.
Send verification, password reset and order notifications.
Enforce free tier: free job posts per employer as configured under the Free plan (jobs created / free tier used irreversible).

4. Legal Basis & Retention

We process data on contractual necessity and consent (alerts). We retain: jobs until application deadline and then deleted within one month, alerts until unsubscribed, verify token 48h, reset token 1h, sessions until logout. Deleted users/jobs are removed from the database.

5. Sharing & Email Provider

We share email with Hostinger only to send transactional emails. Suppressions (bounces, spam reports) are stored to avoid re-mailing. We do not sell your data.

6. Your Rights

You may request correction or deletion of your account via Contact Us. Unsubscribe from alerts via the link in any alert email. Contact us to exercise rights.
